How It All Began

Running can be fun and rewarding after the age of 50. My interest in running began when I noticed an elderly gentleman running every morning. Rain or shine he ran. After watching him for several months, I decided to give running a try. I found out that it wasn't so easy. I couldn't run from my sofa to the refrigerator without gasping for breath. I didn't even look like a runner. I had a
transitor radio with a single earplug strapped to my waist. I wore a pair of 9th grade gym shorts. It didn't matter to me.I got started.

I developed a passion for running. Along the way, I discovered the meaning of dedication and perseverance. I lost weight, gained confidence, and experienced numerous health benefits. I hope to share with you the joy of running, as well as tips, article reviews and links to assist you. So get Ready!

Last Weekend's 5K

I've participated in more running events than I can count. I love the atmosphere, the excitement and camaraderie. It's all about the feeling you get when you put that number on your shirt, strap the time chip to your shoe and wait for the starting horn. So many runners, young and old, fast and slow, all there with the same goal...to cross the finish line! At this point in life, winning isn't everything, but it sure feels good when you do!

I won this award at a 5K road race last weekend.
